Good morning! Welcome to another edition of the Pepper's Foods Newsletter! And, as always, we like to use this opportunity to tell you about new items that line our shelves. This week we're showcasing (mostly) sweet treats (face it, most of your New Year's resolutions to eat better have fallen by the wayside by now so you might as well just go for broke and pig out!). Besides, what better way to fight off the winter blahs than by indulging in some delicious goodies?
Your quest to find the ultimate chocolate sauce has led you to us and to the Holy Grail Kitchen Company. This Victoria-made (James Bay) product is, as the name implies, the Holy Grail of chocolate sauces. Why? Because they utilize innovative flavour combinations to make unique, artisinal chocolate. For example, the original chocolate sauce contains raw, virgin coconut oil, balsamic vinegar from Modena and Madagascar bourbon vanilla beans (in addition to organic, fair trade couverture 71% chocolate). Available in Original, Amaretto and Raspberry Flavours. For those of you unfamiliar with chocolate lingo, couverture chocolate is a very high quality of chocolate that contains a higher quantity of cocoa butter than baking or eating chocolate. Translation: it tastes REALLY good! Warm this sauce up and use it on Island Farms Vanilla Plus Ice Cream 1.65L which happens to be ad-priced at $4.56 this week.
Or you could use it on So Delicious Cashew Dairy-Free Dessert also new to Pepper's. This amazingly delicious non-dairy dessert is luxuriously smooth and creamy! And it's soy-free, gluten-free and non-GMO Project verified!
Another delectable treat that we have for you is Whittaker Chocolate Bars in numerous flavours! This is New Zealand's finest chocolate since 1896. It's so good because the chocolate nibs, which consist of approximately 50% cocoa butter and 50% cocoa mass, are not separated but are ground over and over again until the rich chocolate liquor is created. This is then tempered and poured into molds where it solidifies into the rich, chocolate bars that are wrapped and shipped to stores like ours. Yum!!
Remember when we said that we were showcasing mostly sweet treats this week? Well, the one savoury item that we have to let you know about is that we finally have Mill Bay Farms Duck Eggs back on the shelf! Production came to a halt some time ago but it is slowly ramping up again and hopefully will continue to escalate. For now, small quantities will be delivered until production is back up to 100%!
That's all for this week. We'll be into March by the time the next newsletter rolls around! Where does the time go?
Take care,
Pepper's Foods
