Good morning! Welcome to the first newsletter of a new year, heck, a new decade for that matter! We are so excited for this opportunity to continue bringing you the kind of quality and service that you expect to experience when you shop with us and, of course, to keep offering you a fun and informative newsletter every week. Last year was great and this year looks even better!
The holidays are over (phew!), school's back in session and we're already a week into the New Year. We typically don't get a whole lot of new items into the store over the holidays but a few trickled in and we'll talk about those in a moment. But first, we'd really like to welcome back our longest serving employee; a man who wears that Trilby hat like a champ. Who cuts with a knife (and it feels so right). The gravy on the mashed potatoes, the dog's bollocks and one of our meat department's fearless leaders (airquotes around the word leaders)...Mr. John Eldridge. And blimey, we're right bloody chuffed to have him back!
Now, speaking of meat, let's get to the meat of the matter, so to speak, of this newsletter: the new items!
Do you love garlic? Do you prefer to buy products made in British Columbia? Do you enjoy food that tastes incredible? If you answered yes then be sure to pick up new Fresh Is Best Garlic Spinach Dip from our Deli Department's cold case near the front of the store. It's made fresh (of course) using all-natural ingredients, is low in sodium, and makes a great dip for chips and veggies, as well as being an awesome salad dressing!
First we started selling the uber popular Field Roast meatless products in the tofu section. Then we added Field Roast Chao Creamery Dairy-Free Cheese products in the dairy department. Well now, we've added new Field Roast Mac N' Chao to the freezer section! As taken from their website:
Chao down on this creamy mac! It was only a matter of time before we became inspired to craft a rich, flavorful sauce using our Creamy Original Chao Slices. A homestyle classic and perfect combination of creaminess, texture and umami. Simply made, simply satisfying. A cream, classic favorite! Tender pasta covered in a succulent and rich sauce made from Creamy Original Chao Slices.
If vegan eating ain't your thing then check out Louis Pasture Pork Cracklings! First they brought us their delicious, ethically-raised pork crisps and now this! You might balk at the idea of eating fried pig skin but if you're eating for the paleo diet, these gluten-free snacks contain zero carbs, moderately high fat and a lot of protein. So it's kind of a junk food that's actually not too bad for you! So trust us, these Island-made snacks are ridiculously good!
Coconut cream is the thicker and richer version of coconut milk. And now you can purchase Blue Monkey Organic Coconut Cream in Aisle 2 where the cooking sauces and curries are located. It's certified kosher, Halal certified and USDA organic certified, contains no preservatives or additives, is 100% vegan and non-GMO. It's also an excellent source of electrolytes and potassium!
We're added even more to the non-dairy shelf in our Dairy Department with Earth Island Dairy-Free Yogurt. With probiotic cultures, this soy free, vegan, non-dairy yogurt is rich, creamy and delicious with a velvety texture!
And while you're at it, why not pick up some Elmhurst Barista Milks? Available in Almond and Oat varieties, these non-dairy milks steam and froth up beautifully to make your coffee beverage perfect. Because let's face it, Cujo is frothier than a lot of those other non-dairy milks on the market. You can find them under the monitor at the far end of Aisle 1. And don't forget, we also sell Elmhurst Non-Dairy Coffee Creamer!
Well gang, that's number one in the books for newsletters in 2020. We hope you all had an amazing holiday season and always look forward to seeing your smiling faces in the aisle! Take good care!
