Good morning! Here we are again, Tuesday morning, and that can mean only one thing: another newsletter chock full of info regarding new items and current events about all things Pepper's Foods! You may have celebrated Cinco de Mayo on Sunday which, according to Wikipedia, is an annual celebration held on May 5. The date is observed to commemorate the Mexican Army's victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla, on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza. More popularly celebrated in the United States than Mexico, the date has become associated with the celebration of Mexican-American culture. It's a significant event because the Mexican army was outnumbered two to one and less well equipped than their French adversaries but alas, a year later, they were defeated at Puebla anyway when the French returned in greater numbers.
So there you go. If you didn't know why Cinco de Mayo is celebrated, you do now! And if you celebrated, here's hoping you had a great time because in Victoria it was muy hermoso!

If you've been into the store anytime after April 28th, you'll no doubt have noticed a new addition to our front end to better serve our many loyal customers: another express till! So with this extra till, we're hoping to alleviate the congestion at the front of the store and reduce the time you sometimes have to wait in line!
Two weeks ago we told you that our frozen novelty freezer would be showing up soon and guess what...? It has! And just in time for the gorgeous, warm weather we have in our forcast! So if you have plans to head down to Gyro Park, make sure to come in and grab one or two yummy treats from the freezer and go!

The people at Christie continue to churn out limited edition Oreos at a frenetic pace, don't they? Here's another one that may cause a bit more eyebrow raising than some of the others offered recently: Game of Thrones Oreo Cookies. It's the classic Oreo sandwich cookie except that there are four different logos related to the hit HBO show: White Walkers, House Lannister, House Targaryen and House Stark. People are nuts for all things Game of Thrones so if that's you, get on down here and get yourself a bag or two before the next episode airs!

Nothing goes better with cookies than a glass of fresh milk.
