Good morning! Here's a fun fact: On this day, May 8, 1978, the first ascent of Mount Everest without the use of supplemental oxygen was performed by Reinhold Messner and Peter Habeler. A remarkable achievement! But you might need to sit down and put on an oxygen mask when you take a look at our attached weekly ad. It's also pretty remarkable! And as usual, we have numerous new items to tell you about this week so here we go!
Our first new item originated in the Coast Mountains, specifically in Whitler, BC and is already becoming a popular snack with our shoppers! Eve's Crackers are seedy, crunchy, healthy and tasty! High in protein, fibre, and omega 3s, they're a great choice for a nutrient dense snack. And with only 1 net carb and 0 grams of sugar per serving, you really can't go wrong.
What pairs well with crackers? Cheese, of course! But probably not this kind of cheese because we're talking about a crunchy snack! Chedz is a premium cheese snack that's made of simple ingredients and oven baked. Put them in a salad or soup or just eat them right out of the bag! Chedz can also be used for cooking for a delicious, low carb alternative to bread crumbs in recipes. Smile...say Chedz!
A few weeks ago we introduced you to Meat Bar which, no word of a lie, has been a smash hit! We're practically sold out of them. So we're hoping for the same result with Orchard Bar. These are naturally delicious fruit, nut and seed bars that are rich in antioxidants but free of gluten, dairy, preservatives, artificial flavours and colours. And of course, meat. There's absolutely no meat in these bars despite being a good source of protein! Made in Cashmere, Washington.
In 1905, Francois Leclerc baked his first batch of cookies in the backroom of his home in Quebec City. He must have done something right because over 110 years later they're still making great cookies there (in Quebec, not his backroom). Leclerc Tradition 1905 Cookies continue to put smiles on family's faces with comforting and delicious flavours such as Ginger Snap, Molasses, Chocolate Chip, French Creme and Maple Leaf just to name a few. Are you sitting down? Because this week they're ad-priced at $1.96 each! And that's a Pepper's tradition: putting unbeatable prices in our ads week after week.
Sparkling water is really gaining traction with consumers as people make healthier choices and decide that conventional carbonated beverages, aka, soda pop, have too much sugar, caffeine, colours and other stuff for their liking. So just in time for the warm weather, we now carry Bubly Sparkling Water! The colourful cans contain sparkling water with no calories, no sweeteners and come in a wide variety of flavours including strawberry, cherry and lemon! And it's endorsed by Doogie Howser himself, Neil Patrick Harris, so you know it's good!
And finally, we want to let you know about the latest giveaway at the store. Up for grabs is an Igloo Maxcold Latitude Cooler (it can hold up to 92 cans!) as well as a Pelican Solo Kayak! All you have to do is sign the back of your receipt as well as provide your phone number (so that we can call you if you win!) and deposit it in the ballot box at the front of the store. The winner will be announced June 26th.
Don't forget to tell your mother's that you love them as this coming Sunday, May 13th is Mother's Day!
Have a great week!
