Good morning. You won't get another newsletter until after Remembrance Day so we'd like to take a moment here to pay our respects to the soldiers past and present, the men and women who fought, who died, who suffered and sacrificed and who are responsible for providing us with the freedoms that we so often take for granted. Lest we forget. Poppies are available at the tills for those who wish to make a donation to help support our Veterans and their families.
Ok, let's talk about some exciting new changes that our full-service Meat Dept. is making! We've added what we think are some pretty darn good items to our meat counter; things such as Breaded Pork Cutlets, Hand-Made Italian Meatballs, Cranberry-Stuffed Boneless Pork Chops, and a larger variety of Marinated Meats and Poultry, just to name a few. Certain items will be seasonal and don't expect to always see the same things all the time because we'll be rotating new items in and out. But please stop by, pick up a new item (or two) and let us know next time if you enjoyed it!

Have you ever eaten a quince fruit? Do you even know what it is? You've probably heard of it but many of you have likely never held one in your had. That's because it's somewhat of an undercelebrated fruit, largely in part to it's lumpy shape (similar to a pear), tough and difficult-to-cut flesh, unpalatable taste (when eaten raw) and it only becomes ripe in October and November. But let's get back to that taste. Yes, you can eat a quince raw but you wouldn't want to. Very tart indeed. Cook the fruit, however, and it becomes a wonderfully fragrant and delectable delight! So when The Little Stand told us that they had local Quince Jelly available, our ears pricked up. Because we know that discerning customers will jump at the chance to get their hands on a jar of this seasonal sensation. So if you want to see how this fruit is transformed into a thing of beauty (in both sight and taste) then make sure to get a jar today!
